📅 FULL ITINERARY
Arrive at Kualanamu Airport. Transfer directly to Tangkahan, a remote village at the rainforest edge. Check into your jungle lodge and rest.
If elephant conservation activity is underway, observe from a safe distance with no guest participation. Guests do not feed, bathe, ride, touch, or make direct contact with elephants. Afterwards, take a 4WD jeep ride through plantation tracks to Bukit Lawang. Check into your riverside accommodation.
Enter Gunung Leuser National Park for a half-day trek with a chance to observe Sumatran orangutans in natural habitat. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed; the guide adjusts the route and respectful viewing distance to conditions on the day. Conclude the trek with a river tube ride back to your lodge.
Leave the rainforest behind and travel to the Karo Highlands (Berastagi). Visit the traditional market and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.
Early morning hike up Mt. Sibayak volcano. After descending, drive towards Lake Toba, stopping at the spectacular 120m Sipiso-piso Waterfall. Take a ferry across the crater lake to Samosir Island and check into your lakeside resort.
A full day to explore the island. Visit the ancient Batak stone chairs at Ambarita and traditional villages. You can also rent a bicycle or simply swim in the refreshing waters of Lake Toba.
Take the ferry back to the mainland (Parapat) and drive to Kualanamu Airport for your flight out, bringing home unforgettable memories of Sumatra.
